“Homemade Cereal in Minutes: Quick, Easy & Delicious Rice Krispies, Cocoa Krispies & Honey Smacks!” üzerine 44 yorum
I have seen rice krispies made in a wok with a deep bed af salt. The heated salt will heat the rice without the oil. The krispies dont taste salty.
Had no clue how Rice Krispies were made. This was interesting. Thank you.
Sharing this with my DD who’s been looking for a RK recipe.
So fun!!🎉🎉🎉 I’m going to make these with my grandkids!
I could eat that whole bowl of honey smacks. ❤
I've seen them make rice krispie in hot salt, but not oil before.
Hi, that's super cool how the rice puffed up. Plus there's no additives. Very interesting. I will have to look if the supermarkets have them. Never saw them before. But a great idea. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day.
I had no idea that rice crispies were deep fried! Who knew! The others look so good, and easy too. Thanks Chef Tammy! 💕
Could you use water instead of oil to make the rice crispies? Thank you for sharing. Wht do you use parboiled rice?
Yum ❤❤❤❤
Those look great, and yes they were originally called Sugar Smacks! I will be making some, soon. Thanks for the recipes.
These look scrummy yummy 🙂 and definitely worth a try 🙂
Thank you God Bless stay safe xx Jean from Scotland.
I wonder how the puff wheat is made. I love the sugar smacks! Im going to make the rice crispies with the grandkids. They will think I'm magic 😂
Wow, who'd have thunk, lol?!? 🥳
I have watched hundreds of cooking videos but never have I seen anyone make cereals. Loved the video.
I love your videos because you make the things people actually want to eat
Parboiled rice isn’t something we can buy here. Not that I’ve ever seen anyway. I’m sure I could manage to figure that out though lol
Fun fact, in Australia they’re called Rice Bubbles and Coco Pops. No idea why lol
I’m intrigued by the last one. I don’t think I’ll be able to find puffed wheat. Maybe quinoa or millet or something organic and expensive. Buuuut… have you ever tried that mixture on popcorn? Add a bit of salt and surely you’d have a pretty incredible snack, even if it wasn’t quite right as breakfast cereal. Scaling the mix down for a single serve snack you could probably eliminate the oven step and just have sticky fingers as you munch it. I’m determined to find a way to like popcorn because I can grow it and then if I fancy a snack, I’ll stick with my grow everything except wheat coffee and cocoa goal 😊
Thanks Tammy great video as always ❤❤
Do you think you could use a dehydrator instead of using the oven?
Wondering if you have whole wheat berries for milling fresh flour if they would pop in hot oil like the rice 🤔
Never would I have thought to make Rice Krispies from parboiled rice.!..Thanks Tammy, I can now use this parboiled rice I have in my pantry. Girl you ROCK.!!.
Does it have to be parboiled rice?
Also, I love these recipes. The grandkids like junk cereal but aren't ever here long enough to eat a whole box. Then I'm left with a box that I don't eat. I can make up small batches this way!
Can you parboil your rice yourself?
Very interesting video as others have commented. But do the krispie cereals snap crackle & pop in milk? 🤣
Yay! SugarFree MapleSyrup going right on next Walmart list.❤
Awesome video, neighbor! So glad I found your channel. I have been wanting to make rice crispies for a while, but all the other methods I’ve seen use salt or even sand to puff the rice. I was hesitant because I felt like it would be hard to prevent residual in the final product. I’m super excited about the honey smacks, too. I hadn’t seen anyone doing that before.
My kids loved cereal when I was still willing to buy it. These days I was only doing an organic granola, and they like it, but I’m super excited about putting these things back on my shelves and feeling great about knowing exactly what’s in it. Thank you!! —Love, from the toe of da boot ⚜️
You are simply AMAZING! Thank you ❤
Great video as always! You are impressive!! Keep going, we're watching.
Thanks Tammy. You are showing me so many things to make that I never knew could be made at home!
Yes they were originally called Sugar Smacks. A lot of products for kids, at a certain point changed the ingredients and names from sugar to honey. There was a 'crackdown' on sugary stuff being sold for kids. I remember being mad, cause I loved my Sugar Smacks!
You wouldn’t happen to have recipes for Life cereal or Capt Crunch?
Fun fact in regards to the Sugar/Honey Smacks debate, Honey Smacks was never called Sugar Smacks and vice versa. Honey Smacks is it's own name and Sugar Smacks is it's own name. One is made by Kellogg's and the other is a Post brand
Our local grocery stores here in Central NC don't carry the puffed wheat cereal either. I would have to go out of my county to hunt for it. I bought mine online from Amazon too. I don't like having to do that, but I wasn't given a choice. Some Walmarts do carry it according to online, but our local one doesn't.
Thanks for making the video. I came for the rice crispies.
What is "honey smacks"? I've only heard of Sugar Smacks, which was a cereal back in my childhood. It was with suar crisp bear.
Great video! Thanks for your demonstration! You were very clear in every detail and it really looks so easy ❤ Thanks so much! 🎉
Can you also make puffed wheat like the puffed rice?
Great video! Not only was it detailed and you told us everything, but also showed us and kept to the point. And…… I love cereal, was brought up on it, but they put so much stuff in it I feel guilty as an adult. I'm going to be making these because I needed something more than my granola.😆🥰😘 Thanks again!
love this!
Very nice. I had no clue you could make sugar smacks at home.
Do they ever taste greasy as they sit? This is so fascinating! Are store bought rice krispies mdade this way? Amazing!!
Have you tried vacuum sealing to help them last longer? Im not a big cereal eater, but i wouldn't mind making these for my kids and sending them as a care package. Atleast I'll know there isn't any hidden artificial sweetners or odd additives, that way.
Have you ever parboiled your own rice?
thank you since im gluten free and dr has me on a lowfodmap way of eating .. i can eat these rice krispies..!!!! i cant wait to try these !!! again, more videos like this and also more of the soups and easy quik meals like you had a while back i love all of those videos and they taste great !
i also reuse my parchment … unless its sticky
God bless! Pray you have a very peaceful and happy time with the years you do have left!
