I was going to ask if it could be the addition of a layer of spray paint rather than the color, but then you had the tip about the aluminum foil.

Yeah, but this is just basic science darker colors are known to take more heat so if you use this on pans, the food will most likely be darker
Good tips! I avoid dark pans because many things will burn on the bottom before they’re even finished cooking.
This is so vindicating my cookies have been coming out dark on the bottom since I moved flats, I knew it must be the tray or the oven 😂

u need to spray paint the other pan with white to ensure that the added layer of paint isn't an issue.
