I don’t care for cooked sweet green pepper, they get bitter. I’d use red ones instead.
I usually add about half a cup of barely which adds great texture and also thickens the soup.
Every time Chef says it's going to be hot, I laugh, waiting for his antics for his first bite. And then, seconds later, another spoonful but no antics. Good acting Chef! Oscar for you!
I’m confused. The beef in the pan was boiling. All the fibers were shrinking and becoming tough. So how will the soup tenderize it? It’s not being braised. Thank you

If you don't have time to cook a stock, would a boxed beef stock do? And how to enhance it? I used to live Campbells beef consomme but it was changed. It used to have a rich flavor ah you just answered my question. Tomato paste!
Does anyone realize that, at least on YouTube, American cooking seldom not using celery, onion, garlic, tomatoes; Italian pretty much tomatoes, celery, onions, wine, garlic; Chinese seldom miss out light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, wine, starch… Sure, they mix in some herbs, some seasonings, … but basically the same stuff.
What about pre cooking a bottom round then shred?

I live in the desert Southwest. Every fall, I get a bunch of Hatch Chilis. I freeze them and use them all winter. It’s in between a bell pepper and a jalapeño.
