This looks so good. I always have to add nuts to anything chocolate because they seem to go together so well. Thanks for another great recipe.
Thank u for posting! Wow, that's a ton of frosting. I'd use about 1/5 of that. Best, from Colorado!
That cake looks fabulous I love me a great chocolate cake 😍
Nice new mixer!!! Cake sounds wonderful I’ll have pick me up a Bundt pan and make this
When my mom died it was in her head she never wrote it down.
I dont think the paddle on your new mixer is as good as the one you had. It doesn't seem to scrape the side of the bowl as good as the other one.
Recipe nerd here. At 16 yrs old i learned and kept recipes. I often was chosen by my family to make the mashed taters because, "no lumps" lol. 😂❤ God bless you both. From another Melissa 😊
Did you get a new mixer?
I see a new cookbook in the future. This looks wonderful . Thanx. 😎👍
I have my grandmothers small file box oof recipes. It was very emotional. Best recipes I thought were lost.
I am a bowl scraper too!
Can’t wait to try this recipe, thank you
God bless
😂Tom, you scrape your bowls with your spatula so well, you almost don't have to wash your dishes ! Ha He 😉 Love the story about the recipe box. Lets get some more cards out of there and fix some dishes ! Love your show !
i had an idea. This is Cindy I am a third grade teacher from Lapeer MI. We had a snow day today so I am making this cake! My idea is to make your Texas sheet cake frosting for the top! Hmmm whatcha think!

Back in 1800s alot of people drank butter milk 🥛 instead of milk why?
Is this recipe in your new cookbook? I love your recipes and hope to get your book soon. 🩵🍰
Absolutely delicious 😋🎉
WOW Tom what a lot of chocolate! It looks good. I think I would put some powder sugar icing though. Thanks for sharing. Blessings
I so enjoy your baking videos. What are your thoughts regarding using peanut butter morsels for topping
Got a tall cold glass of milk to go with a nice big slice of cake!???
This looks yummy. I was 19 in 1971 and married that year in June. I have loved all the he recipes I have collected since then from my mom, grandmother, friends, family, and magazines. etc., including yours and others on YouTube and Pinterest. A fun lifetime of cooking!❤
If you have guests, squirter some whip cream on each slice, and tip with some valentine sprinkles. 😊
you should do a " recipe box " series like the sunday series and use the recipes from your box , that way people can enjoy them when they save recipe to file on computer or print it off from box below video , just a thought , would love to see that series done by you guys .
I’m a scraper also! Keep on scraping Tom! I’m most difinitely a recipe NERD! Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn were my favorites and still this day! Good ole 8 tracks!
Looks absolutely delicious!! I’m going to have to try this! 😋
Thanks
Thank you Tom and Melissa. This looks really delicious 😋. I guess I'm nerdy too, when it comes to listening to the old country music. I agree with you Tom on George Jones and Tammy Wynette. I still love listening to all the oldies, like Merle Haggard, Don Williams, Conway Twitty, oh wow the list goes on. This is Kim from Ohio.

This cake looks terrific! Would it be possible to make a peanut butter glaze to go over the chocolate? If you can- always gild the Lily!👍❤️

I'm making this this weekend! We've been really eating healthy and even making smoothies to replace meals, but on the weekends we have a cheat day where we eat whatever we want. I love, love chocolate cake!
This looks so good.
Looks great Tom. I'm giving this a go and I'm not sure why, but I'm thinking some toasted almond flakes might just find their way on top 😊
