Thank you for joining me in this cooking tutorial. This recipe video is for my vegetarian home cooks, a dish that I truly enjoy. Those amazing masoor dall (red lentil) when cooked is creamy and very hearty. When the lentils cooked with Maris piper potato and cauliflower that combination is wonderful for amazing flavours and textures. Just cook this dish even if your not a vegetarian or a vegan…
Today I will be cooking one of my comfort meals. A lentil curry that I truly love and enjoy. Just follow my step by step tutorial video.
Ingredients list:
4 tbsp Oil or ghee
1 tsp Cumin seed
Bay Leaf, Cinnamon stick & 4 Cardomom pods
2 tbsp Garlic paste | 1 tbsp ginger paste | 1 cup diced onion | 2 tsp salt
1 cup water
1 tsp turmeric, 2 tsp coriander, 2 tsp curry powder, 3 tsp chilli powder, 1 tsp cumin powder
1 cup red lentil (washed and soaked)
Green chilli (as desired)
3 cups water
Coriander to garnish!

Looks very nice indeed. I will make this for sure, but will make slight difference by adding the cauliflower a lot later than the potatoes as I like it with some bite (almost raw) rather than cooked too soft.

I used to work at a venue not too far from these guys. They catered a funeral for a much loved father and respected educator, it was his favourite restaurant. Latif’s were top end and absolutely amazing food as always. Made my life as the venue manager so easy. All the best and happy new year everyone
