I know what you mean about spatulas taking on the smell of the last thing you cooked with it. That's why I have two sets of spatulas (actually wooden spoons). One set for savory cooking and one set specifically for baking.
Good timing on this one! I just bought a bunch of coconut milk and wasn't sure what to do with it yet. Now I know what I'm making with one of them at least, only I make all my breads from scratch so might try making it with coconut milk in the actual rolls themselves instead of milk or water, then topping them this way, giving it a double coconut flavor. In theory anyway! They look delicious! Happy cooking everybody.
I probably would’ve put shredded coconut on top before the oven
😂 Yes I smell my spatulas! Especially the silicone spatulas. They hold onto those savory flavors really well.
YUMMY😍😍😍😍😍
In today's episode, Emmy makes love to some sweet buns.
I’ve seen this on Tic Tok a few times but not with sugar always with sweetened condensed milk… so what is the correct way? I’ve already got this but we had snow so people went crazy have to wait til next week for the buns . I want to make it the right way. Can someone please let me know? Please and thank you.
Wonder if that syrup would be good in a sparkling water? Or over ice cream?
I think all the grocery stores in WA state have the Rhodes rolls and bread loaf dough in the freezers. 🙂
If you spray the dough balls with oil, then you don’t have to use plastic wrap
those look amazing
Lmao call me immature, but pan y popo translates to Bread and Poop in Spanish 😂
I knew you were going to make this someday because it went viral. And girl may I say that you pronounced pani popo correctly that is exactly us Polynesian pronounce it ❤❤🙌🏾👏🏾👏🏾 I am excited to watch this. you even said Samoan, how we would say it too. I am not, but I am Tongan 🇹🇴 and we do make Pani popo all the time but I think most o Polynesians make this
cheeeehoooooo okayyyy samoan representation 🔥 such a yummy comfort dessert 💖
Yay, I’m glad you love our Pani Popo I’m so glad you got to try it❤❤
I smell my rubber tipped tongs for the same reason.
Spatulas, cups, spoons….its it’s not stainless, it gets the sniff test…..
Frozen unbaked bread (already shaped in loaves to drop right in the pan) and rolls were really popular in the 80s-90s. We had the rolls every year for Thanksgiving. In the 90s, Bob Evans sold frozen unbaked rolls already in a round foil pan, ready to thaw on the counter and bake. They were available in grocery stores in OH, WV, PA areas. In the 80s, ready-made dough for pizza crusts wasn’t really available, but frozen bread loaves were. Many dinners at my house were homemade pizza using frozen bread dough.
I think I saw someone make monkey bread with that pre made dough
Suggestions: Pandan extract, vanilla extract, add cinnamon sticks and/or star anise when making the syrup. Not all at once but just some flavor enhancers
3:49 YES! I have this habit of sniffing my knife or cutting board before using them just because I had fruits that tasted and smelled like garlic or chilli peppers. Ugh!
So now I have these furuits dedicated cutting board and knife but the sniffing reminds! Lol
I love that you always use regular ingredients, are not elitist, not rabidly concerned about sugar and salt and ingredients in general. You are just a normal sweet smart rational woman. Not enough of women like you out there.
I’m glad I came across this video. I don’t either for yummy baked goods to cool off.
As someone outside the US, what would be a made from scratch version of the dinner rolls? We don't have dinner rolls here so I don't even know what kind of bread to compare them with
Before I started the video, I first thought of senorita bread (b/c it's also sweet) but realized this is def different. Looks yummy!
I am surprised you had never seen these frozen dinner roll dough balls!? I live in the midwest, and they are in most of out grocery stores! We used to have them at potlucks when I went to church growing up and at some of our family holidays/dinners! So easy and taste fresh-baked in contrast to the already baked ones!!
Gonna make these but instead of the store bought rolls I’m going to make them with your Japanese milk bread recipe! Also will try cinnamon roll style filled with shredded coconut, nutmeg and topped with this syrup! Thank you for yet another great recipe!
I just recently subscribed looks like you have been food testing for quite sum time
You have changed the recipe quite a bit our indigenous neighbours make their bread and roll it into a log and fold it up, they then cook it into the sauce it’s not coated when it comes out.
Oh my goodness this brought back memories. When I was a kid and lived on Oahu in Hawaii a Samoan food truck would come to our neighborhood and I loved getting their coconut buns. These always sold out fast 😊❤.
Slightly misleading title
Pani popo sounds like poop bread 😢
