For the layers:
Smash Burgers:
1 lb ground beef (80/20 fat ratio preferred)
Sausage Patties (“Buns”):
1/2 lb ground sausage, formed into 4 thin patties

For the Cheesy Egg Yolk Sauce:
4 egg yolks 1/4 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

For the Garnishes:
4 slices thick-cut bacon (cooked and crumbled) or pork rinds (crushed)
1/4 cup crispy cheese crisps

Optional: Sour cream, whipped butter, or chopped chives for garnish

Instructions
Prepare the Sausage Patties
Form sausage into 4 thin patties. Cook in a skillet over medium heat until browned and crispy on the edges. Set aside.
Cook the Smash Burgers
Divide the ground beef into 4 equal balls. Heat a griddle or skillet on high heat.
Smash each ball flat using a heavy spatula. Season with salt and pepper. Cook until crispy edges form (2-3 minutes), then flip and cook another 1-2 minutes. Set aside.
Make the Cheesy Egg Yolk Sauce
In a small saucepan over low heat, whisk together the egg yolks, heavy cream, and Parmesan cheese.
Stir constantly until thickened and creamy. Remove from heat. Assemble the Smash Burgers
Start with a sausage patty as the base layer. Add a smash burger patty on top.
Drizzle generously with the cheesy egg yolk sauce.

    Keto < 20g of carbs/day.
    Ketovore <10g carbs/day.
    Carnivore is as close to 0g carbs/day as you can get.

    The term was coined by Dr Ken Berry and his wife Neisha. He transitioned from keto to carnivore. She didn’t want to go 100% carnivore, but wanted to still consume around 10g of carbs/day, so they coined the term “ketovore.”

    It’s stricter than regular keto, but not as strict as carnivore. It’s a step in between.

  2. Everything is better with butter! I have taught my granddaughters that, lol. When they are here i feed them low carb, most of the time, and they dont miss the pasta or bread. Hubby and I eat as low carb as possible but enjoy or salads and veggies too much to be ketovore or carnivore. Thanks to Dr. Berry for helping us with that 5y ago.
