“Country Ham, Fried White Sweet Taters, Biscuits, Red Eye Gravy, & Fried Eggs – So Good!” üzerine 30 yorum

  1. I did a little bit of research about the difference between an orange sweet potato, a white, sweet potato, and a yam.

The sweet potato, whether white or orange is considered a root vegetable. There are a number of varieties of the white sweet potato.

But the yam is a tuber vegetable.

Just for a bit of confusing trivia –

“There are three common categories of root vegetables: taproots, tubers, and bulbs.”

  2. Hi Tipper and Matt, I really like the apron of Miss Cindy's. I know she is looking down and smiling knowing that You are thinking about Her when wearing it and it looks good on You!😊
Watching you making the Country ham and the red eye gravy I want to buy some and make it for myself and I don't think I've ever had red eye gravy so I'm looking forward to it.
I hope Y'all have a productive day and get closer to building the shed.😊❤🙏🏻

  3. Childhood favorites can’t be beat. My childhood memories are of creamed “dent” corn. Cream corn was never sweet. So many memories of us kids shucking the corn for mom, aunt, and MawMaw so they could cut it. Two shallow cuts around the ear and then scrape with the back of the knife. So yummy!❤

  4. Always enjoy your videos❤….. in reference to the blueberry kefir water…..I muddle the blueberries in the jar,( you could use a wooden spoon), and it takes more fruit since they are small….this brings out the blueberry flavor and is my favorite besides pineapple. Learned about kefir water from you and I love it! Thank you for sharing and inspiring! 🙏🏻❤

  5. Sweet sweet story about Miss Cindy's grandmother's apron, Tipper. I know you're going to enjoy wearing it.
I had never heard of white sweet potatoes before you first mentioned them awhile back. Love baked orange ones though, and now I'm wondering if I could fry them on top of the stove the way you did.
The kefir water always looks intriguing, and healthy. It put me in mind of something my mother used to "feed." I think it was some sort of fruit, that she then cooked with, and it was a real popular recipe back then.
Thanks for another interesting video. Keeping the whole family, from Granny down to the boys, in my prayers. ❤

  6. Tipper, I really enjoyed your talk about cleaning out a drawer, and the many memories it stired up. Well i am always signifying in your kitchen, surprize, i am nosey,. Those white sweet potatoes are the most beautiful i have ever seen, my dad used to grow them in our garden and they did not look as good as yours. Also i am looking at what you have in your beautiful big wooden bowl, looks like mangos and oranges, and maybe one potato. I think ive said enough Tipper but i really enjoy noseying around your kitchen.🙏❤️🙂

  7. Good morning Tipper – so enjoyed watching you cook a big hearty breakfast this morning for your family – it all looked delicious! Your comments this morning about making kefir water caught my attention so I'll go find your video on getting it started for myself. Also lived the story behind that sweet apron you inherited from Ms Cindy. My Grandmas & Great Grandmas only wore the half aprons and I have been blessed to be the keeper of the ones my Mom had. There a couple that I wear occasionally while the others I've hung on things in my kitchen – they always bring a smile to my face remembering my sweethearts stirring a pot of beans or making a pie or washing dishes . These are all homemade from whatever cloth & thread was on hand – the fanciest one has lace around the edge of a heart shaped pocket ! They are all treasures knowing the hands & hearts that went in to making them – makes me feel like my grannies are still with me. Precious memories how they linger – you, Matt, & all your family have a blessed & wonderful day 🙏💖🙏

  8. Mom-mom passed 24 years ago at age 93. Most every time she comes to mind, she is wearing one of her hand sewn aprons that is the same as the one you wore in this video, except the pattern on the goods, as she called fabric, is different. The infrequent times I have been close enough to eat at a Cracker Barrel, I almost always choose a breakfast and always order their fried country ham for a side meat. Salty, yes, smokey, of course, and crisply browned. My what a treat, especially compared to the "ham" most grocery stores sell.

  9. Speaking of sweet potatoes, I have always baked them whole in the oven which takes quite a bit of time. Lately, though, I found that if I cut them in half (unpeeled) and place them cut side down in a lightly oiled or greased cast iron skillet I can cook them in less than half the time and they taste like they are baked. I let them get slightly browned on the cut side, turn them over on the peeling for 5 minutes or so then back on the cut side and put a lid on the skillet. All together they are done in about 20 to 25 minutes depending on the size.
